What’s the best way to water the different types of cactus?

Cacti don’t really get rained on much in their natural environment, so it’s a good idea if you can to water your different types of cactus from below. They make amazing and easy to care for houseplants, especially in London where everybody is super busy. If you have time, take your cactus out of it’s decorate pot, but keep it in the plastic one. Place that plastic pot and plant in the sink with an inch or two of water for the plant to drink from. This way your cactus can drink from below.

How long should I let my cactus soak up water for?

Leave your cactus to soak for thirty minutes or so. That should give it enough time to have a good drink. Your cactus needs to dry out before you repeat this process. Scroll down to see our article about how often to water and feed your cactus.

What’s an alternative way to water a cactus?

If you don’t have time to remove a cactus from it’s decorative pot, or you’ve planted it directly into a house plant pot don’t worry too much. It’s key not to let your cactus sit in soggy water, so water your cactus sparingly with a science pipette. The bigger it is the more it will want, but make sure you keep the soil dry!
